Kites

Kites is part of the series OVNIPRESENTE and articulates a tension between lightness and survival through the reconfiguration of emergency thermal blankets into flight devices. Traditionally associated with play and freedom, the kite is here displaced into a regime of urgency. The material introduces a structural contradiction: what rises does so from a condition of vulnerability. Flight no longer operates as a gesture of liberation but becomes an unstable negotiation. Suspended between ascent and precariousness, the structures do not escape; they persist within the forces that regulate their visibility, control, and possibility of belonging.
