The video is a 1957 documentary movie recovered on internet and then edited in post-production that offers a reflection on inner listening. The original video was made by a well-known American company producing records and musical devices to advertise their technological innovation in the field of high fidelity.
The video was manipulated by the artist through the alteration of various elements, to narrate the genesis of a record containing a trace of silence. The work is part of a project created specifically for a cycle of exhibitions organized at the Auditorium by the Musica per Roma Foundation, dedicated to the art of sound.
The video is presented in relation to other works that invite the viewer to have an experience. Listening to silence is juxtaposed to listening to the other vinyls produced by the same factory. They are two specific experiences articulated in separate paths, two sides of the same medal, typical of the human dimension.
