Cotton embroidery on found image, passepartout, glass, wooden frame, plastic supports for candles, clay, DAS, car toy, oyster shells, pigments and non-toxic resin

The stereotype shape of a child copied from car stickers family on board censors and substitutes the prisoner in the images. Embroidery appropriates the images, creating a tension between familiarity and otherness.
Childhood, as an utopian moment free from omologation, metaphor of anti-productivity vs adultness, is depicted as prisoner of violence.
The artwork is part of the series Familiar pics: family.
Familiar pics takes shape from an archive composed by images, videos, advertising, tutorial, logos, operating instructions, historical documents. The rielaboration of these heterogeneous materials questions the role of images in cultural narration, the aesthetic normativity, the exploitation of emotionality by mass-media.
The frames are transformed in hybrid bodies. They are a coagulation of daily elements, memories, scraps, remains of animals and plants forms of life.
