EcforicaEuforicaEsteticaPathos is an installation designed in occasion of Society of Nature, a project curated by Arianna Guidi, in collaboration with Nomadic Shapes and Looking Forward, supported by Culture Ireland and the OnCurating Project Space in Zurich. SoN’s aim was to create awareness of other forms of knowledge production by investigating natural resources and organic forms and bringing them into a constellation of realities where human and non-human borders are blurred.
EcforicaEuforicaEsteticaPathos is a ritual experience. In an age where the practice of rituals is transforming, EEEP questions the impact of spiritual negligence. it proposes a brief introspective practice, a fragment of time stolen from your routine, gifted to your person, body and soul equally. EEEP is inspired to the ‘technology of the self’ and the philosophic machine.
The participant will be accompanied in a philosophical exploration of their psyche. They will have the chance to reflect on latent aspects of their persona, drink to the fountain of the collective unconscious and focus on the power of their tacit culture. The sole scope of this exercise is meditation and self-consciousness.
In the exhibition, a pile of golden envelopes is installed suspended from the ceiling, in each envelope a card, a device that allows the participant to experiment a mix of introspective practices. The entire experience is based and inspired by the research and theories of Carl Gustav Jung and his studies on analytic psychology.
‘Ecforica Euforica Estetica Pathos’ invites to practice wonder through instinctual exercises of stupor, to trigger meditation through emotional stimulation of the soul, walking an unforeseen path of discovery in an empiric treasure hunt to get acquainted with the hidden self.
