Mixed media - unique work - wood/concrete/fabric

Block#S4, part of the Habitat: between living spaces and human relationships (2022) project, stems from a reflection on the fracture in the relationship between man and nature. It is a sculptural work in concrete which, in the form of an architectural block, symbolises the interaction between the worker's labour and the individual's daily life.
The pitched roofs recall traditional construction elements, while the concrete becomes a vehicle for plastically hypostatising the meaning of work and relationships in living spaces. Incorporated into the sculptural block, the fabric elements add a tactile dimension to the work, evoking the warmth that characterises the domestic habitat.
In Block#S4, the architectural features are not simply decorative, but serve to create a continuous dialogue between the urban exterior and the interior of the house, emphasising how work and constructive energy have a profound impact on the lives of those who inhabit the spaces. This work therefore invites us to reflect on how housing structures can influence not only the physical environment, but also the relationships and experiences of the individuals who inhabit them.
