INSTALLATION
Seraluci develops as a multidisciplinary work, combining different languages and aiming to promote a contemporary reflection on the topic of the sea, starting from an ancient source of fishing practised in Mediterranean sea– an activity, carried out on the so-called lampare, which is gradually being lost.
The installation of the work includes the recovery of an old boat, named gozzo that is typical of the
Apulian territory, and its lampara. The restoration of the old boat thus becomes a preparatory rite to the performative action. In fact, the action takes place aboard the restored gozzo, which returns to sail the Mediterranean waters. Each element is suitably arranged, converting the boat and its lampara into a sculptural piece.
