Mixed media: Plaster, red clay from Puglia, abandoned fishing net, natural hemp filaments and red threads.
This work is intended to be a symbolic homage to our mother earth and mother of everything.
The bust is covered with red earth, earth scorched by the sun, dry and arid. Other signs, such as scars, highlight the wounds inflicted on the planet by man.
The structure of the skirt is made from a fisherman's net found on the beach, an abandoned net that no longer caught anything. In the net there are red threads that symbolize a sort of interrupted circulatory system and represents precisely the disconnection that man has generated with the various elements of nature.
While the weaving of raw hemp takes on a meaning of positive contamination among men of good conscience, with the hope that the rapid change of direction that must be made will involve all the states of the world.
