It is a surreal dreamlike work that wants to pay homage to the Ntuppatedde of the feast of Sant'Agata. In reality as in the opera, the women of the feast of Sant'Agata on February 3rd go around Catania and want to share a moment of celebration, of freedom, they are playful, they dance, they court and demand gifts. In their performance, linked to emancipation, the ancient tradition remembers them totally covered by a veil, NTUPPATE in our dialect, and together they represent the Rebellion of our Agata. In my work the women run towards a Carousel and dance. The carousel represents a game...and here is the sense of freedom...with slow turns in a Magical Moment. Their message "You too get on the carousel of life".
