THE DOORWAY

The doorway is a space of encounter. The hands are placed in the centre of the heart, like an oriental mudra. The space echoes the Greek cross architecture of medieval churches. Living is a temporal space that flows through the doors of the passage. The hands probe the flesh of the Self in its walking through the openings, constantly dying and being reborn in its passing. The passage is presence and absence manifesting itself.The colours of image, sound and action seek to re-establish a state of wakefulness. The balance of chiaroscuro. The threshold is connoted as a rite of passage towards a dimension of communion with Self and, towards the other, the Beyond.
