The work, born within the artist residence
MAC Padova 2022/23, questions the dynamics of the author's signature and deconstructs its practice.
The glazed terracotta ball was autographed by all the players who attended the basketball court located in the heart of the residence district of Piazza de Gasperi in Padua every day. The dichotomy implemented by the author works on the overlapping of logical planes such as the ritually autographed ball and the work of art that is signed by the author himself, apparently deconstructing the concept of authorship and authenticity typical of habitual artistic practice.
