Leftovers is an open art project started during the artistic residency in Barcelona in 2016 and later reshaped in other forms during 2018 in Turin, Italy and in 2020 in Marseille.
This project is inspired by grocery street markets and focuses on the concept of waste, the spare part of food that turns into rubbish at the end of the day. This project focuses on food waste and overproduction. The intention is to map the various cities of the Mediterranean and beyond and, through an anthropological approach, investigate the responses that the different communities of the different cities offer in the face of the problem of food waste. In order to know the dynamics of the places considered, to get in touch with people and learn about the local culture is carried out a field research, collecting photos, videos and interviews with vendors, customers and various professionals. Based on the responses received, a return is produced by creating a link between the exhibition space and the surrounding district.
