“Lumen” - made of 360-degree neon LEDs installed in an old residence converted into an artistic residence in Pieve di Teco (IM) is a sign that, emerging from the darkness, it floats in directions that cannot be determined inviting a journey suspended in time. “Opening a curtain here means revealing the light, which has always been a symbol of life and knowledge, in all its potential: revealing the real but above all the non-visible, the work invites a journey of contrasting feelings, from surprise to restlessness, to serenity of abandonment in a suspended place”.
Art therefore as the ability to cross geographical boundaries, to reveal the aesthetic and emotional nature of places and things, as a narrative of the traditions and connotative elements of the territory, as a description of that unicum that has characterized it for millennia. Art as a way of reactivating the memory of places and immersion in overlapping times. A territory, the Ligurian one, which has always represented for Igor Grigoletto, the primary source of inspiration, the landscape through which the artist develops an original semantic language to tell the intimate and profound connection with his origins and his history.
