This work addresses the phenomenon of the so-called plastic islands, immense oceanic vortices where currents concentrate millions of fragments of waste. Not land masses, but invisible continents made of microplastics, nets, and debris, spread across five major areas of the world's oceans. The plastic, largely coming from the mainland, does not disappear: it breaks down, enters marine ecosystems and the food chain, transforming the sea into a toxic archive of our habits. The work invites reflection on a global landscape created by humans, where the boundary between nature and waste dissolves.
