In "Torpore", the artist’s research delves into a dimension of apparent stasis, where the sound act exists as an internal and latent echo. The work explores the subtle boundary between silence and awakening, functioning as an investigative module on the phenomenology of the trace and the density of matter understood as an "acoustic body." In continuity with Fontana's research on signal transmutation, the intervention operates through the subtraction of aerial vibration in favor of a volumetric crystallization.
The title does not describe an emotional state, but rather a physical condition of sign latency, in which matter saturates the space previously occupied by the sound wave, nullifying its temporal progression.
The installation shifts the focus from the object to the relationship between the absence of sound and the monumental presence of the residue, defining the sculpture as the concrete archive of a human presence traceable only through the permanence of its own residual vibration.
Technique: Plaster, fabric, wood, iron
Edition: Unique piece
Support: Wood and iron base
