Mixed media and assemblage: hand-painted oil on terracotta (bisque) sculpture, wood, natural rope, and glass miniature on a wooden base.

An ironic reinterpretation of the classical myth through the lens of consumerism. Ulysses, bound to the mast of his own identity, no longer resists the sirens’ song, but rather the fetishistic desire for a contemporary pop icon. The work explores the fragility of the modern hero, trapped between the sacredness of history and the temptation of global marketing.
This multi-material assemblage creates a dialogue between Homeric epic and advertising ready-mades. In Ulysses wants his Coke, the torment of desire becomes a visual paradox: the unbridgeable distance between the sculpted figure and the glass bottle transforms the myth into a satire on our dependence on the symbols of mass consumption.
