The work features a large, scratched, dirty, almost oxidized metal sheet, on which three registers coexist: drawing, writing, and photographic collage.
On the left, barely sketched faces emerge, screaming or suffering, like ghosts: they are nervous, linear silhouettes, suggesting fear, pain, and protest. In the center, a compact nucleus of images of children explodes: faces of different ethnicities, expressions ranging from smiles to melancholy, small bodies tightly embraced, superimposed on one another. The whole is surrounded by an irregular mass of dark, almost burned material, resembling a wound or an explosion. Around it, small photographic frames of other children scatter toward the right, like fragments of memory.
On the right side, the sheet is emptier and lighter: here, a long handwritten inscription and the engraved profile of a bearded face (perhaps a sacred or symbolic figure) appear, connected by a line that starts from the heart of the central collage and reaches a small red circular element, like a nail or a seal. At the top left, a tilted red stamp reading "PRIORITY" emphasizes the sense of urgency.
Overall, the work brings together the pain and vulnerability of children with an adult or spiritual gaze that observes, perhaps protects, perhaps judges. The hardness of the metal and the engravings contrasts with the fragility of the photographs, creating a strong emotional impact: it is a denunciation, but also a call for responsibility and care.
