La Formica was born within "Gusci", a visual art and writing project created together with the actress and playwright Chiara Vallini. Between 2018 and 2021, paintings and texts were created in which images intertwine with words as passages of text and words expand images. The work is of an introspective nature, an immersion into the folds of one's own being, deeper and deeper, until it loses the overall vision, until it gets lost, and then rediscovers itself through new perspectives. This path, divided into 13 stages representing 12 hours plus one of an imaginary day, has converged in the book “Passo a due, thirteen times a day”, published by Atb editions in 2022.
"The ant" is the last of the 13 stories and describes the journey of a small insect that goes through a multitude of emotions and sensations, guided by the continuous variation of the point of view and the small misunderstandings that follow.
