The American Dream has been distorted. From a promise of opportunity to an ideology of exclusion, from a collective aspiration to a privilege reserved for the few.
This work was created in 2025, in the early weeks of Donald Trump’s second term, as a response to the alarming shifts in his administration. Continuing the exploration begun with American Dream – Burnt in the U.S.A., the American flag is manipulated to reveal hidden swastikas— a stark signal of the dangerous drift of U.S. nationalism towards rhetoric that echoes Europe’s darkest past.
The double S in the title, a direct reference to the German SS, reinforces this connection: States takes on a sinister connotation, where national identity becomes a tool of division and discrimination.
