Assenze

The work consists of nine canvas boards (20 x 20 cm) to be wall-mounted using the specific hooks provided on the back. Each piece must be positioned at a distance of 5 cm from the others. The boards are mounted on a polystyrene support and created using an acrylic-on-canvas technique and collage. This is a modular work in which the nine canvases are arranged in a square structure, interrupted by a central void: the Hole. This physical absence becomes the focal point of the work, representing the human condition of inner lack. Drawing inspiration from Chandra Livia Candiani’s reflections in "Silence is a Living Thing" and the acceptance of emptiness described by Anna Llenas in "The Hole", the piece invites us not to fill this void with "temporary plugs". On the contrary, it urges the observer to inhabit the emptiness, recognizing it as a vital space of authenticity and awareness, while resisting the illusory pursuit of superficial well-being.
