This work is dedicated to the Afghan people, victims of the Taliban regime and the inconclusive American action, which began seventeen years ago and has not yet ended. << You have the clock, we have the time >> they love to remember the Taliban. The facts seem to prove them right. The longest war ever fought in the history of the United States (and the most expensive after the one in Iraq) destined to drag on for much longer. The pessimists call it the endless war. The pragmatists the war that cannot be won. Those who have lost everything consider it useless. What results did the 3,529 NATO casualties and 35,000 Afghan soldiers bring? Their sacrifice certainly prevented the Taliban from recapturing the whole country, but the war was never won and since the withdrawal of international troops was completed in late 2014, the situation has worsened. Posterity will judge.
