MONOTYPE ON PAPER WITH SUBSEQUENT INTERVENTION, ACRYLIC
The timeless connection between gesture and space becomes evident under the red tint.
The tint's sheer force is somehow subdued to the thinness of the various layers which gently guide you along the "holzwege", across the sheet of paper as in a purple wood; creases and sudden perspectives open up at every new approach to every single piece.
Something that is thin and hence barely visible can still exert influence. Think for example of the strands of a spider's web, laden with dew and then caught momentarily in sunlight. The web is flimsy yet the addition of light lifts it up to another level.
Colour and light carry their own messages since they are able to transform not only objects but perception itself.....
The whole set of works maps the viewer experience of the imagistic world, albeit concrete and living on its own rather than in the eye of the beholder. It forms a singularity in time and must be received as a global expression of the artist's self.
