My "painting" makes use of ribbons of paper material arranged in spirals of various widths and inserted into a pattern of cuts, carefully designed, on Laminil sheets.
In this work the chromatic and material palette draws from the assortment of food packaging to which I offer the possibility of living in another dimension: a new ennoblement.
The ribbons are inserted into the two panels divided by color into 5 rectangular backgrounds each. The names of the products, the ingredients, their use can be understood in the words and images of the packages which are cut into strips, partially losing their commercial recognition and thus becoming abstract signs. In the visual path of the observer, the gaze can re-compose the words as if in a game and trace the products from which they derive. The work tells us about the person who uses them and tells the story of everyone, immersed in the same consumerism. But it is also a reflection on environmental sustainability, food waste and recycling compatible with the difficult process of ecological transition.
Strips obtained from food packaging - various lengths and widths - curved and then installed on special and studied open slots on the laminil support. The strips cut from the packaging protrude, vertically or horizontally, from only one side of the support.
Unique work
