Autosomiglianza (Self-similarity), glazed white ceramic painted with engobes, 2021-ongoing
The observation of the forms produced by nature has always constituted a primordial alphabet of human vision and imagination.
Autosomiglianza is part of a series which reflects on the relationship between nature and artifice, between human time and the cyclical time of nature which, once removed, re-emerges in the imagination and in the unconscious.
A plant presence grows, like a concretion, on a neoclassical ceramic. The fractal shapes of the Romanesco cabbage, self-similar, symbol of original harmony repeat themselves the same on different scales and refer to an original structure of space organization.
The vegetal fractal shape transforms the object and shifts the weight of the vision, from the work of man to the incessant and irreducible transformation of nature.
