CUORE NERO

This oil painting represents a heart with a candle inside. The black heart, the protagonist of this painting, is represented on a red background that darkens as it expands towards the edges until it becomes black. The choice to use a particular brush different from common brushes allowed the colors to be blended so that they did not mix with each other, obtaining oblique stripes all over the canvas which give the impression that the heart is beating. What makes this work so unique and particular is the light condition in which it can be seen; in fact, to notice all the details and colors you have to look at it under a strong light, on the contrary the painting as a whole would be almost black.
