pastel and mixed media on wood
Our universe has a common root.
From the size of an atom to the boundless cosmological abyss currently visible, its expansion is also transformation, passage from one state to another, in a constant search for thermal equilibrium. Entropy can be defined precisely as the measure of this balance.
Root and destination, intertwined together. A paradox of signs and materials.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only transform.
Yet in its transformation, a part of it is irretrievably lost.
Pastel will never return to its initial stage.
A story about the irreversibility of the gesture, a measure of the before and after.
"Entropy" is a work that is as linear on a visual level as it is complex on a conceptual one, which abandons the figurative horizon to become a metaphor, a bridge between the reasons of art and the laws of physics
