Fragmentation, alienation, identify this series entitled "in the dark". The references to our time, to the world of the internet in particular, lead to an intimate and surreal dimension, where human beings relate more to objects than to people. The result is often subordinate relationships between the body and objects/apparatus, to be investigated through ambiguous images between realism and surrealism.
We start from a real fact but extrapolate it from the world of the possible to elevate it to a silent icon, as in a suspended time. In the painting I DID IT the reference to the gesture of eating returns, framed inside a monitor. Red lights radiate from the piece of furniture in a dark box, a face is outlined while biting a black food, it is the face of the artist who bulimically eats sugar, a metaphor of addictions and obsessions that is expressed through this obsessive gesture, as in the performance entitled “Restando Umani”, which the artist created in 2011.
