In vertebrates, a sequence of hands take on the appearance of a spinal column. An analogy between a plaster cast of a hand and a human spine occurred by mixing digital and analog processes. The hand, first photographed was placed verisimilarly at a vertebra, according to the curves of a human spine. At first glance we all think we see a vertebral column. The work invites reflection on the changing image dominated by technological development; it alters the vision of architectural space, visually creating a perceptual deception, capable of deluding the viewer even for a few moments. Technique is embodied in our genetic inheritance to the hands, which have become man's main tool of technical hybridization. This work is the result of a research that investigates tékhne-loghìa, as the fundamental dimension of transformation of the world; the influences it produces on man and the indissoluble link to the process of production of the work of art.
