Art begins with resistance - at the point where resistance is overcome. No human masterpiece has ever been created without great labor.
From this quote by André Gide, French writer, Nobel Prize for literature in 1947, I drew the inspiration for this work made of iron, whose dimensions are 382x382x150cm.
The idea of including this phrase inside a circle comes from the very meaning of the circular movement whose value is intrinsically immutable and perfect, without beginning or ending, without variation.
It is time in a continuous sequence of moments, a geometric figure, but that represents in its absoluteness, the primordial substance, the totality of harmony, a condition that represents me and in which I find myself when I create an artwork, despite the effort and the resistance.
