The work investigates emptiness both in its material concreteness, spatial and architectural, and in its conceptual density, within the three categories it implies: space, place, body, and time. Each element in fact, just like the human body, flexes by its own weight, rising 186 cm (the year of my birth), in height from the floor. The acted gesture, still acts to the idea of weight loss and subtraction from gravity . The body simplified to a wire, is charged with further meanings, which understand it as the gateway to the mysterious void of the soul. The work from skein to 'stem' to scale, attempts to establish a precarious but necessary balance to keep the form standing, where the absence of the body is filled with the weight of its encumbrance. Time is seen this time through the subtle precariousness of the sculpture, its finding a space-time balance.
The installation addresses the fundamental issues of sculpture, such as balance, statics, equilibrium and weight starting with opposites: fullness and vote, weight and lightness. Emptiness is the space that locates and distinguishes 'things,' a necessary condition for the construction of the experience whose protagonist is space, which is also composed of air: it is the weight of the atmosphere that gravitates above us and in which we are immersed.
The installation consists of 4 brass skeins, 4 brass rods and 4 brass scales.
