La Metamorfosi necessaria

I made this work because I felt the need to change my painting and get closer to a more real representation of my subjects. I felt that it was no longer enough to represent things as I saw them but that I also had to give the observer a chance to see what I imagined. The Opera is a tribute to Nature in its plant and animal ensemble. The elements blend together to coexist and enter into symbiosis, a sign of how in nature everything is harmonious and connected and there is no distinction from the fungus, to the insect, to man. The subjects fluctuate and rotate in a spiral that evokes the Primordial Soup, the origin of all things. Each element of the picture has the same importance and Time is removed from the equation. It does not matter if the skull was once man or if the Drone is destined to become a butterfly because in Nature Past and Present do not exist, everything is part of the other in a constant symbiotic Metamorphosis from which man himself cannot escape despite the his efforts. The final attempt is to re-dimension man and make him an integral part of the natural cycle to which he has always belonged.
