Hemp thread embroidery on jute and cotton rug.
A rug bought, used and then rearranged for reuse and total consumption. But something kept it from ending up in the trash. Something prompted the owner to roll it up and take it to the attic. amidst the dust and the alternating tenants over time, all memory of that rug had been lost. entering my new attic, of my new home, for the first time, something prompted me to untangle that pile of dust in the corner and discover the treasure.
The remaining weave hints at an Abusson design, which thanks to embroidery comes alive again emerging as a sweet memory.
