The artwork is composed by two sculptures made as follow:
Mirror sculpture: metal base, 30 x 30 cm, on which a metal tube is fixed. To this is fixed, in turn, a mirror of 50 x 50 cm. Overall height of 101 cm.
Watch sculpture: base, 30 x 30 cm, in metal, on which a tubular metal is fixed. To this is fixed, in turn, a watch (with plastic case and crystal glass dial with numbers mirrored counter-clockwise and movement of the hands counter-clockwise) of diameter 34,8 cm. Overall height of 93,8 cm.
Edition: single piece
The illusion of Time is a work that wants to investigate the complexity and the impenetrability of the reading of Time. The apparently unreadable clock dialogues with the mirror, which reflecting it makes it readable: only in a complex relationship of totality the two elements find reason to be. A trivial inverted clock casts doubts on our conception of Time: do we really understand it? Seconds, minutes and hours exist in reality? Are we sure about the instruments used in its measurement?
