pastel on wood
The artwork aims to reflect on the paradox of our temporal perception.
The time of life, like that of artistic practice, is questioned in the space of a few centimeters, those that elapse between the rough surface, not yet affected by the pencil, and that instead completely covered by the signs that make up the drawn face.
Einstein, with the theory of general relativity, taught us that time and space are one thing, and the variation of one affects the other. The bar that supports the design, crossed by light horizontal lines, symbolizes spacetime, the dimension that permeates the entire universe and which forms the background to the author's design.
Just move one step to go forward or backward 7 days, the time needed to complete the work (the dates of which are noted on the wooden bar that supports the design).
A temporal paradox that invites us to reflect on how fleeting our knowledge and beliefs about the world are.
