"The protagonist of the opera is the virtuoso Pierrot, a melancholy and sad hero, who fell in love with the moon. He juggles poetically, expressing himself and his ambiguous character. The mask wants to embody the romantic feeling of this character, furrowed on wrinkles by a black tear, which was born in the comedy of Italian art of the end of the sixteenth century and sings to the moon that inspires him, living the deepest anguish and imagining himself a murderer, and finally, after moments of pure cynicism, returned to his homeland, Bergamo, invokes in the last moments of life "the ancient scent of the times of fairy tales".
