Elisa works mainly in sculpture; her interest lies in analysing the forms and structures characterising her environment and the landscapes she encounters daily. Therefore, the main focus of her research is the mechanisms that define how the places humans control and occupy are used. In her artistic practice, she examines the concept of 'Neo Genius Loci', coined by Christian Norberg-Schulz, a Norwegian architect, infl uential architecture critic and theorist. Capucci's sculptural installations manifest the personal investigation of myth reexamined in a contemporary environment. She creates her works using various materials and processes, often with found objects, cement, organic and construction materials. As the artist manipulates the objects by blending, moulding, and modelling, the found object takes on a hybrid form, gains a new meaning and begins telling stories of issues and idiosyncrasies related to today's landscapes.
