This group of works was born for the biennial of Çanakkale as a development of a process of study on the ways of travel of seeds and the strategies that plants adopt to travel and reproduce began in 2017.
I was fascinated by the extent of the intersection of knowledge and information that life creates in order to move forward. Plants reproduce through their own seeds, which represent the set of information for their species: they are all they know.
These seeds seek and find ways to express themselves by transforming into plants and, to find the best possible conditions, they often face journeys, both in time and space.
The dissemination processes are very varied and involve both the possibility of autonomous travel and interaction with other species. The seeds can travel with the wind, can be projected at a distance for a play of tension of the tissues in the fruit itself, or due to the effect of gravity, they can develop projections suitable to remain entangled on host animals and I can travel in time thanks to their scarcity of water that allows waiting for the propitious moment sometimes even for a long time. Fascinated by all these tools of relationship and knowledge, I produce sculptures that try to identify the connections and the techniques of botanical conservation/communication, some plants provide themselves with interesting lint to defend themselves from the cold or extreme heat or simply to be attractive to animals, such as birds that can move them to build new nests.
During the production of the Seeds I continued to hybridize also thinking of host or parasitic creatures, and so The others were born.
