Embroidery, painting and self made stamps on canvas.
"Self Space" was born during the project "Capillari del Sud" developed during the initiative "Thessaloniki Project" that includes workshops lasting three months written and designed for women guests in the refugee camp of Diavata in Greece. From the meetings arise three distinct works that, with different methodologies and techniques, deal with central themes such as: the reconquest of a lost intimate space, self-care and the ability to return to desire. "Self Space", "Pass, Present, Future" and "Shared Village" testify to the individuality of each workshop participant, moving away from a stereotypical depiction linked to the figure of the refugee.
The big tent, through painting and embroidery, written thoughts, streets and places of the country of origin of the participants, focusing also on what each one wants to find in the future. The various strips of fabric, previously torn and then sewn together, give life to the work "Self, Space" large tent in which you can enter is a symbol of a safe place regained.
"Thessaloniki Project" is the first initiative realized by the art collective "Wild Art Project", formed in 2019 by Samantha Vichi, Olga Sperduti and Margherita Menghini.
