Anatomy of a Thought originates from a process of free and instinctive drawing developed without an initial overall vision of the image. The work was created by observing the sheet from a very close distance, progressively building the surface through accumulations of marks, lines, and painterly interventions. During the process, each new form emerged in relation to the previous one, generating an organic growth of the image rather than a planned composition.
Only at the end of the process was the entire drawing observed in its entirety, revealing a constellation of hybrid forms suspended between organism, instrument, and figure. The structures that emerge across the surface may recall anatomical fragments, biological diagrams, or imaginary entities, as if the sheet had become the site where a system of autonomous images surfaces.
Within the composition, linear drawing coexists with stains and chromatic interventions that introduce moments of density and interruption in the graphic flow. A spill of black ink, which occurred accidentally during the process, was preserved as an integral part of the work, becoming a visual nucleus that alters and reorganizes the balance of the drawing.
The result is a surface that behaves like a mental map or an impossible anatomical chart, where forms appear to emerge as fragments of a thought taking shape.
Technique: mixed media on paper. Digitized drawing printed on Hahnemühle fine art photographic paper, mounted on Dibond.
Dimensions: 180 × 60 cm
Edition: edition of 5 + original.
