VIDEO INSTALLATION
Seraluci develops as a multidisciplinary work, combining different languages and aiming to promote a contemporary reflection on the topic of the sea, starting from an ancient source of fishing practised in Mediterranean sea– an activity, carried out on the so-called lampare, which is gradually being lost.
The project aims to involve several Italian cities overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
Its first stop is the city of Giovinazzo, the source of inspiration of the art work itself: it is a public art intervention that gives the myth of the lampara back to its sea community, through the language of a performance.
The performative action, called Seraluci [Azione #1], becomes a visual testimony to the present, through those who observe it in its development. Moreover, it becomes a permanent trace through the creation of a video art work, which collects and documents the Seraluci public art intervention.
