In the West, we demand an environment that is tailored to our needs. This work expresses the ability to appreciate the slight inconveniences that the environment presents to us, rather than trying to control and modify it. It encourages us to enjoy whatever comes our way.
The panel is part of the "Change" project, which depicts the moods evoked by environmental conflict. It was presented at Paratissima 2023 during Turin Art Week. The complete visual project consists of 12 photographs, one triptych and two installations.
I have portrayed a cross-section of society through my illuminated figures who, from their privileged position, observe the frenetic pace of humanity and its effects on the environment.
Droughts, floods and tornadoes give voice to a planet that does not seem to bow to the demands of its inhabitants, namely the incessant voracity for energy and resources which, although increasingly available, never seem to be enough.
The project “Change” is a desire for change in everyone's habits, a conscious choice for our own well-being and that of the planet.
