Where is the time fixed, where can smells and feelings be grasped again, where do they remain in space? In the geography of spaces, they are a space in itself, of the interior, in centrality. What space do affections have, do they remain with the person, do you look back at photographs of
when you were a child, and the memories remain there, an atmosphere clings and returns to you, it falls
on you. The image brings back old memories, a space for what happened, a space for what is imagined, memories mingle with the imaginary. Two times meet, the forward and the backward, the time of the video and the still time of the photograph, time vibrates, and the mind wanders in the imaginary, in the world of the senses that the photograph holds within itself. Proximity is a liminal zone, a zone of approach. As one zoom in, the small world disperses into an open space; as one part of the photograph is brought closer, a world opens up, and the nearness inconveniences its opposite.
