Photography bears witness to the dialectic between time and matter, between the silent presence of nature and the memory preserved by stone. The wall, with its irregular and lived-in surface, becomes the symbol of an intimate and secret Capri, far from the clamor of the famous Piazzetta. Here, in the secluded streets of the island, silence envelops every detail, transforming the perception of space into a contemplative experience. The vine gracefully insinuates itself between the cracks in the wall, drawing with its leaves and their shadows a delicate balance between strength and fragility. Black and white deprives the image of chromatic distraction, enhancing the play between light and matter, between the hardness of the stone and the softness of the plant. The opposition between the structural rigor of the wall and the organic freedom of the ivy becomes a metaphor for the double soul of Capri: on the one hand the vibrant energy of its worldliness, on the other the timeless quiet of its most hidden corners. Here, far from the noise, the breath of history and that of nature merge into an image that suggests not only beauty, but also listening to those silences that the island can give to those who know how to seize them.
