The title refers to that house which is metaphor for the society we have built, that system which exists to give conventional meaning and a logic to the world. The house here represents all the social structures and the socio-economic dynamics which we find ourselves fostering and living into.
We have built a society that is designed to create the perception of order and security, but today more than ever we realize that we are in a precarious condition. The house falters by the swaying of the ground underneath.
In these moments we feel the need to question this whole system, possibly freeing ourselves and proposing a new alternative vision.
This is the movement suggested by the work: to knock down the walls of the surrounding system and open up to explore what lies beyond, to build something new.
The idea is not aiming to return to the anesthetized normality of the past, but changing the rules of the game.
As such, the house, a symbol of stability and idyllic protection, is transformed, and can be deconstructed to evolve into a different perception. The house, stable, fixed in its foundations, thus changes shape and meaning. Like an airplane it transports us to another dimension.
