Interactive installation
22x22x5.5 cm + interactive projection up to 45x45cm
Black obsidian, cerebral sensor, interactive
algorithms, up-to-date NASA video
2024
The Mirror explores the connections between
solar and cerebral activity, reflecting on the
multiplicity and parallels within the Universe
and their mutual influence.
At the heart of the project is a disc of black
obsidian, surrounded by video projections
of solar flares based on real NASA data.
These projections, amplified by an interactive
algorithm, respond to the viewer’s brain
signals, influencing the intensity and
brightness of the flares.
The project downloads video recordings of
solar activity with a 48-hour delay—the same
time it takes for the solar wind to reach
Earth. In this way, as the viewer interacts
with The Mirror, the solar particles they
see are simultaneously entering Earth’s
atmosphere, creating a tangible connection
between the microcosm of the brain and the
macrocosm of the Sun.
The Mirror thus becomes a portal linking the
inner world and the Universe, exploring how
everything in nature is cyclical, reflective,
and interconnected
