The Unfolding practices series
“The sculptures apparently present the physical qualities
of different supports such as fabric, paper or plastic, moving away from the ways in which earthy pastes are usually investigated. These solutions, which on the one hand betray the material
with which the works were created, when looked at more closely,
bring us back with extreme transparency to their original nature as ceramic objects: the roughness and porosity of the surface, which often appears raw, crumbly and earthy, shows us an approach that curiously embraces the imperfections of a material that opens up to the unexpected”
Davide Parolin, curator and artist
Technique: refractory ceramics, porcelain, oxides, engobes.
Series of 9 sculptures.
