We Mind is a dance short film, blending Super 8 and
digital media, created with dancers from the Rambert
Dance School in London. This project emerges from
the urge to articulate and explore mental health themes,
informed by personal stories and challenging the
widespread stigmas and misconceptions, particularly
among young individuals. The film uniquely conveys
mood disorders such as social anxiety, depression,
and bipolar disorder through dance movements.
Choreography serves as a powerful medium to express
the intricate dynamics of psychological states, unveiling
the often hidden layers of emotional distress. Mood
disturbances are portrayed using a natural, expressive
body language. As the narrative progresses, the dancers
gradually shed their emotional burdens, culminating in a
portrayal of collective empathy and the essential role of
community and mutual support. - We Mind, 8mm e HD video, art film, 03'40" 1/5 editions
