Alba nigra is a collection of white/light (alba) and black/dark (nigra) materials, but it is also the
principle, the beginning, the dawn of a dark vision of reality, more skeptical, more pessimistic, more painful.
The starting point of this journey toward an unknown, but certainly dark, destination is Materia, which
appears as a tormented mass of white porcelain, vaguely reminiscent of a sea
sponge, embedded with painful flakes of dark metal, like infectious growths. Before
our eyes, we see the disease of matter, and we, inattentive and superficial human beings,
have been its spreaders.
A metallic liquid drips onto the clear mass of Trasformazioni Urbane, reminding us of the
polluting effect of sewage and smog spreading across our cities. The object can be considered
both the representation of an artificial reality (such as decaying architecture) and
that of a natural one (for example, a mountain, a granite quarry, etc.), upon which the
black evil of pollution slowly creeps.
If in the world, understood as an ecosystem, evil takes the names of pollution, global warming,
climate change, in social and personal reality it takes on different forms.
