The entrepreneurial operation concerns an industrial area located in a "core zone" of the UNESCO site of considerable scenic interest and consists in the demolition and asbestos remediation of 13,000 square meters of buildings to create a space where nature and art will coexist.
HEAR THE ART EARTH HEART EAR THE ART BE THE ART BE EARTH BE HEART BREATH
it consists of a very low-frequency sound track that proposes the heartbeat, spread over the whole area. The sound work is accompanied by a visual trace that develops on the temporary external cladding of a part of the preserved building. The sound and pictorial dimensions intentionally declare the will to trigger a provocative constructive dialogue with the territory.
The idea comes from wanting to cut and overturn a part of the membrane, to leave a void and highlight a fullness. This takes shape from the metaphorical vision of the breath composed of an occupation phase and a release phase.
From this point of view, the volumetric occupation and the consequent withdrawal simply become natural phases of breath and development.
The pictorial work, consciously unstable, refers to the personal theme of the fragile lands and is made with screen printing inks on the unassailable polyethylene membrane.Sound loop, screen printing inks on polyethylene, 7 x 43 m, 20 hours of execution, Pierluigi Slis, 2021
