"Being silent isn't just when I'm not speaking. It's when I'm staying.
When I stay and stay awake. Scares.
All that immense peace, that emptiness, that light makes my chest explode, makes me overflow with a joy that only art seems to me to contain.
It's scary, I'm not used to it.
And I understand now that that strange attachment to the whirlwinds of the world that stress me, tire me, make me suffer, is perhaps just a perverse habit that gives me security!
No, it's not possible.
I know the way to Peace, it is SILENCE."
"21 Minutes of Silence" is an impromptu urban performance that conveys silent meditation as artistic inspiration and as a practice for internal and "external" peace, to be brought into the world. Sculpture and action, or rather inaction, are mixed together in these twenty-one minutes suspended in search of an oasis of eternal peace inherent in the ephemerality of the chaos of the world.
It is a project where sculptural art dialogues with performance to offer the public a complete and profound immersion.
The work installed with a self-supporting arch is created with a welding machine and blowtorch on polished steel.
