In "Studio #7", drawing emancipates itself from its function as a preparatory study to establish itself as an autonomous work, functioning as a direct and finished recording of the "sound act." The graphite does not merely describe form; it generates it through a gestural action that mimics the layering process inherent to sculpture. In line with Fontana's research, the mark on paper is not a simple graphic trace, but the two-dimensional transposition of a kinetic frequency etched into the support.
The work investigates the density of the mark as an accumulation of energy: the graphite dust saturates the paper, creating zones of pressure and void that recall the porosity of matter. The white paper ceases to be an inert plane and becomes a field of propagation where the artist's gesture fixes the rhythm and its visual memory. In "Studio #7", the paper becomes an archive of a visual event that holds the echo of a vibration within it, transforming the graphic stroke into a plastic presence that challenges the two-dimensionality of the medium.
Technique: Graphite on paper
Edition: Unique piece
Support: Frame with hooks on the back
